Exodus 35: 30-33 “See, the LORD has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, for work in every skilled craft.”

Construction of the Tabernacle, designed by God, required skills the Israelites lacked. Nothing Pharaoh had demanded of them approached the quality of God’s workmanship. God chose Bezalel and then placed the Holy Spirit within him.

When we become God’s children, we too receive the Holy Spirit. God dwells within us, providing the skill, intelligence, knowledge, and craftsmanship for the unique task He places before us.

My training is in numbers—I’m a CPA and hold an MBA. So when God insisted that I write my memoir to help people, I argued with Him. “I’m not a writer, I’m a numbers person. I’m too old; no one wants to listen to me. I don’t understand how the publishing world works. I don’t want to publicly drop the curtain covering my life.” These were some of the lies Satan whispered into my internal dialogue.

I released my book Triage: Healing Mental and Spiritual Roots in May 2025. It can best be described as my alabaster box poured out for Jesus. On bended knee, I gave everything I had to God to use any way He deems best. I’ve had to learn to trust Him to provide all the missing skills required. If anything worthwhile results from Triage, the glory goes to our Lord, Jesus.

I don’t know what God wants you to accomplish. Some will visit nursing homes and hospitals, foster children, counsel, provide in-home care, deliver meals, change light bulbs for the elderly—ask God to guide your steps. Trust Him to provide the necessary skills and resources.

Father, thank You for providing everything we need for the task ahead. Help us release control to You. Too often, we try to do it on our own. Thank You for allowing us the immense pleasure of serving You and others. In Jesus’ name, Amen
